Little Girl’s Dress

This gorgeous Little Girl’s Dress is a lovely simple one which will be the best first project for anyone wanting to start making clothes.  You can either make it totally reversible or you can learn how to make facings.  You can decide on the day.

During this 6 hour workshop, you will be taken through every stage of cutting and making the dress to a high standard.  You will learn how to understand a pattern, how to cut out using a pattern, garment construction, buttonholes and optional facings.  It is a fantastic first garment project.

The Little Girl’s Dress Workshop can be made over two 3 hour workshops.  You can choose two MIXER workshops dates which suit you.  The Mixer Workshops are 3 hours but you will need to pay the £10 difference on the day.

The sizing is for 6 months up to 5 years old.  Minor adjustments can be made on the day.

I would recommend having basic sewing skills under your belt.  If you are totally new to sewing, you will benefit from attending the ‘Intro To Sewing Workshop’ before this workshop.

I will have sewing machines available to use for free on the day and also an overlocker!  All equipment needed will be available for everyone to use.

Duration of workshop: 6 hours.

Number of places: 4 max.

Cost: £80. Patterns are provided in the cost. Fabrics can be purchased by the metre and fat quarters at the workshop. You can see most of my fabrics online here but there will be others available as fat quarters in the studio. You can also bring your own. Quantities depends on which size dress you make so please ask on booking.  I recommend using 2-3 different fabrics within most designs.

Where: The workshop will be held in the studio in Dunvant. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided!
