A collection of fully graded patterns to make three different styles of knickers to brighten up your knicker draw!
Learn how to sew French seams and work with stretch lace. All styles can be sewn on a domestic machine although an overlocker or serger can also be used on the Brazilian knicker.
Included is a French Knicker, a cute Ribbon Tie Knicker and a Brazilian knicker. Fully graded from size 6 – 20.
Materials.
French Knicker – 1m of 115cm or 140cm wide fabric / 2m of 1- 4cm wide lace / 1m of 1-1.5cm wide decorative edged elastic / 50cm of 5mm wide ribbon.
Suitable fabrics – cotton lawn, silk, viscose, satin, cotton, voile.
Ribbon Tie Knicker – 60cm of 115cm or 50cm 140cm wide main fabric / 15cm x 15cm cotton jersey for gusset / 2m decorative edged elastic / 25cm of 5mm wide elastic.
Suitable fabrics – cotton, cotton lawn, silk, voile, satin.
Brazilian Knicker – 1.5m of 14cm – 20cm width stretch lace. (size 6 -12 use any width lace for larger sizes use 16cm – 20cm width lace.) 15cm x 10cm of cotton jersey for gusset / 1.5m of 0.5cm wide flat knicker elastic.
Suitable fabrics – stretch lace with finished decorative edges top and bottom.
Tools / Notions Sewing machine with a zig zag stitch, sewing scissors, pins, thread to match, fabric, ballpoint needle.
